ABOUT THE BVI

The British Virgin Islands are a group of over 50 islands and Cays, located in the Leeward Islands, about 90 miles East of Puerto Rico and North East of the US Virgin Islands. The main island of Tortola is about 54 square miles, with Virgin Gorda about 8 square miles. Most of the islands are made up of rolling hills, although Anegada is completely flat rising to only a few feet above sea level.

The BVI is one of the premier locations in the world for sailing, scuba diving, and other water sports with the constant trade winds, crystal clear waters and many small islands and bays to visit. Five minute's drive from the property is a world class yacht harbor and marina accommodating many large luxury yachts.

Thanks to the industries of international finance and quality tourism, and conservative policies for labor and immigration the BVI enjoys a level of affluence that is remarkable in the Caribbean. The local, largely self-governing population is composed of professionals, government administrators, and business and skilled trades people. Education and religion are highly valued.
